Sex and the City may be over, but the robust popularity still remains . Producers are in talks , for filming a prequel to the hugely successful Sex and The City series . The prequel will be largely based on the novels written by Candice Bushnell, entitled , The Carrie Diaries , and Summer And The City. The books encompass the lives of Carrie Bradshaw , Samantha Jones , Miranda Hobbes and Charlotte York , as teens . With that said , it brings no surprise that such young hollywood A-listers have been considered for the roles . Although nothing has been confirmed just yet , rumoured preferences for roles, are the following : Elisabeth Olsen ( Mary Kate and Ashley's lil sis ) as Carrie Bradshaw, Blake Lively as Samantha Jones , Emma Roberts as Miranda Hobbes , and Selena Gomez as Charlotte York.
